Hybrid Name: Monstrodactylus japetus
Meaning: Titanic Monster Finger
Codename: Razor Beak
Creation: The base gene is that of a Pteranodon, the rest is made up of Quetzalcoatlus, Ornithocheirus, Cearadactylus, Tyrannosaurus, Parasaurolophus, Gharial, Bat, and Bottle-Nosed Dolphin.
Size: Wingspan is 32 feet across
Special Abilities: Flight, echolocation, teeth are replaceable.
Reason for Creation: After the success of the Indominus rex (not as an attraction, but as a weapon) the military commissioned Dr. Henry Wu to create the ultimate aerial predator, and that is what he did. The Monstrodactylus, or "Razor Beaks," are large and muscular pterosaurs that are capable of lifting things much heavier than they are into the air. Dr. Wu used the DNA of various pterosaurs to get different results. Pteranodon for basic look, Quetzalcoatlus for size, and Ornithocheirus and Cearadactylus for teeth. In addition, the genes from a Gharial (a type of crocodillian) was added for extra teeth and to give the animal thicker skin, while the genes from Bats and Dolphins was used to give the creature natural sonar (the dolphin was also used to increase it's intelligence). Tyrannosaurus was used for teeth and bite force. Finally, Parasaurolophus DNA was included to make the creatures crest hallow. The hallow crest works the same as a Dolphin's 'melon,' channeling the creatures sonar bursts in the direction they want it to go and then picking up the feedback. 6 were bred, and 6 "pilots" were chosen to raise them personally in order to develop a bond, in the hopes that once they were fully grown it would be possible to ride them. They are extremely loud animals and keepers often have to wear ear protection while working with them. The training sessions have presented mixed results, as the animals are intelligent and appear to be willing to learn, however they are short tempered and incredibly aggressive towards one another and any human who isn't the trainer they imprinted on. This makes the goal of using them as an aerial fleet very difficult because they are constantly fighting among themselves or trying to eat the other riders.
